St John's, Tupton
The Disciples
The music at St John's Church is led by The Disciples and our organist, Ruth Fox.
The Disciples include Peter Lacey on vocals, Emma Yeomans on drums, Helen Johnson on keyboards and Clive Burrows on guitar and vocals.
The style of music at St John's is mixed; with both lively, modern music and traditional music.
The songs are accompanied by The Disciples and traditional hymns are played by Ruth on the organ. The mix of old and new means that everyone can join in singing God's praise together.
Busy Bees
Busy Bees is a craft group of ladies who meet fortnightly on Mondays 7.00-8.00 pm in the churchrooms. It is an active group as well as a social gathering.
The group have produced a number of practical gifts including blankets, scarves, hats, socks and teddy bears.
Many have been sent to various poverty stricken areas abroard, whilst cards and gifts are sold and the money divided between other charities.
Anyone interested will be very welcome. Please come along and see if it meets any of your needs.
Faith Factory
St John's is becoming increasingly popular with young families, which has become the catalyst for the launch of our Sunday School 'Faith Factory' offering anyone between the ages of 4 and 11 a chance to learn about the meaning of life whilst helping to guide them in the right direction with teaching from the bible.
We meet every Sunday in Term Time except for the first Sunday of the month when we have the Family Service in Church.
We have a range of games, stories, crafts and songs and have fun in getting to know Jesus better.
